Transgender woman found dead in Bukidnon

Police are investigating the murder of a 23-year-old transgender woman in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
The victim was identified as Neilbert “Betty” Donggo Benito of Barangay Manalog, Malaybalay City.
Police said the victim, a pageant contestant, was last seen alive with a man.
The man is now considered a person of interest.
Benito was later found dead with a bloodied head, sprawled on the ground, underwear pulled down, and private parts exposed in Barangay Sumpong on Monday, July 27.
The victim, a college student, was taken to a hospital where Benito was declared dead.
The Society of Trans Women of the Philippines (STRAP) mourned and urged justice for the victim.
