Binangonan expands book drive to high schools

The municipal government of Binangonan in Rizal Province continues its book donation drive to benefit high school students in the municipality.
The series of book donation activities, dubbed “Aklat Para Sa Kabataan, Pag-asa Para Sa Kinabukasan,” has reached Don Jose Ynares Sr. Memorial High School (DJYSMHS).
The project, initiated by the Binangonan Municipal E-Library, donated seven boxes of assorted textbooks, pocketbooks, and other reading materials to the public high school.
Vice Mayor Russel Ynares, who oversees the municipal e-library—considered the brainchild of the town’s learning hub with the full support of Mayor Rhea Ynares—said they aim to donate more books and reading materials to other schools in the municipality.

The drive is in line with the public school’s Adopt-a-School program, which seeks to generate resources and other forms of assistance from generous donors.
DJYSMHS officials, led by school principal Dr. Edna H. Villamayor, Assistant Principal Margie Anore, Brigada Eskwela coordinator Ms. Norelyn Anorma, school librarian Elijah Noel De Castro, and Parents-Teachers Association president Violeta Margin, expressed gratitude for the initiative.
They said the donation will help more learners in their research work by expanding the library’s collection.
Aside from books, the municipal government has also distributed school bags and supplies to public school students as part of its pro-education programs.

Vice Mayor Ynares noted that the administration of Mayor Rhea Ynares has been supporting learners, especially those from poor families in the lakeshore municipality, including residents of Talim Island.
