PH Red Cross deploys nearly 80 emergency responders for SONA

Nearly 80 personnel and volunteers were deployed across key areas in Quezon City on Monday, July 27, to provide first aid, ambulance, and welfare services during President Marcos’ fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA), the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) said.
The humanitarian organization said its emergency response teams were strategically stationed at multiple operational sites to provide immediate medical intervention, emergency transport, and welfare support during the annual address.

According to the PRC, the deployment covered the SB Park evacuation area command post near Batasan Hills and Commonwealth, the PRC Quezon City Chapter headquarters along Kalayaan Avenue, the Sandiganbayan on Commonwealth Avenue, and the Quezon City Medical Center area. 
It also stationed teams at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Commissioned Officers Club and Armed Forces Network area, the Commission on Human Rights complex in UP Diliman, and the San Mateo boundary access post.
The humanitarian organization said the teams were positioned to ensure immediate medical assistance, emergency transport, and welfare support throughout the event.
The PRC added that its personnel would remain on standby to respond to medical emergencies and provide ambulance and welfare support if needed during the SONA activities.
Earlier, reports said over 20,000 Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel will be deployed across Metro Manila to secure the fifth SONA of the Chief Executive.
