Mayor Isko points to Manila's role in INC's rise at 112

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Monday recalled the humble beginnings of the Iglesia ni Cristo in Santa Ana in 1914, as the church marked its 112th founding anniversary and celebrated its rise into a global religious organization.

Speaking in his “Talk to the People” broadcast, Domagoso highlighted key sites in the city tied to the INC’s early years, including its first chapel in Santa Ana, followed by later structures in Sampaloc and Tondo.

He said these locations reflect how the church took root in Manila before expanding nationwide and eventually abroad.

Domagoso also extended greetings to INC Executive Minister Eduardo V. Manalo and Deputy Executive Minister Angelo Eraño Manalo, as well as members of the church.

The mayor said the church’s presence in Manila remains closely tied to the city’s history, noting its continued growth over the decades.
