The Manila Police District (MPD) is tracking down a man who allegedly posed as a water delivery boy and stole a teacher's bag from a Tondo school faculty room. 

According to the MPD, the incident occurred between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, at the school's Science Department.

Police said the suspect was able to enter the campus by pretending to deliver bottled water. However, the victim later confirmed that he was not connected to the school's regular water supplier.

The suspect allegedly stole the teacher's bag containing P6,000 in cash intended for her child's tuition, an automated teller machine (ATM) card, identification cards, a wallet, earpods, lipstick, and other personal belongings.

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showed the suspect leaving the school premises and fleeing toward Dalanghita Street after the theft.

Teachers later learned that the same man had allegedly been seen near the school days before the incident while pretending to deliver water to faculty rooms.

The victim's bag was recovered the following day after a child turned it over to barangay officials. However, the cash, earpods, and lipstick were missing.

Authorities said the suspect, a resident of Barangay 80, had also allegedly been involved in a similar theft at another school about three weeks earlier.

MPD personnel launched a manhunt operation on the night of the incident, but the suspect remains at large.

Following the theft, the school tightened its security measures, while barangay officials reminded schools to verify the identities of delivery personnel and other visitors before allowing them to enter school premises.

The MPD continues to investigate the case as authorities work to locate the suspect and file the appropriate charges.
