Charlie Fleming reacts to James Graham's coming out

Charlie Fleming expressed support for former co-star James Graham after her recent decision to come out as a trans woman, praising her courage to live authentically despite public judgment.

Charlie Fleming has spoken publicly for the first time about former co-star James Graham's recent decision to come out as a trans woman, saying she fully supports her friend's journey toward living authentically.

During the cast launch of Regal Entertainment's "Haunted Carnival," an official entry to the 2026 Metro Manila Film Festival, Charlie admitted she was caught off guard with James' announcement.

She related, "I was actually really surprised because it wasn't something that I expected."

Charlie and James worked together on GMA dramas "Royal Blood" and "Widow's War," where they developed a close friendship.

Despite her initial surprise, Charlie said she has nothing but admiration for James.

"But I'm really just supportive of her, whatever decision she makes. I'm really proud that she moved to the U.S. to study and that she's becoming the person she wants to become."

She added, "And I'm just so proud that she has the courage to share that even to the world. You know how the world is cruel. The world is full of judgment, but she was able to show that side of herself and she wasn't scared of it."

Charlie said they no longer keep in regular contact but remain on good terms.

"No, we do not communicate now, but we do have our circle of friends who still communicate with her from time to time. We still follow each other and like each other's posts, so we're okay."
