Vendor killed over meatless pares

BATANGAS CITY – A vendor was allegedly stabbed to death in Barangay Tinga Labak here on Saturday by a customer who was irked over the meatless pares (Filipino braised beef stew with garlic fried rice and clear soup) served to him.
Police identified the victim as Anthony.
Investigation said the suspect arrived with friends and ordered food from Anthony.
The suspect complained that his order had no meat after consuming it. A heated argument erupted where the suspect drew a fan knife (balisong) and stabbed the victim in the body.
The suspect fled towards Ibaan, Batangas onboard a blue Toyota Wigo and the victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
Meanwhile, a 46-year-old man was stabbed to death during a drinking session on Saturday night in Barangay Langkiwa, Binan City, Laguna.
Police identified the victim as Jannysis.
Investigation said the suspect Omar arrived at the victim’s house and a heated argument erupted between him and the victim.
Omar left and returned with a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times.
The suspect escaped and the victim was taken to a hospital in Binan City where he was declared dead.
Follow-up investigation and manhunt operations are ongoing in both cases.
Rape suspects
The Police Regional Office 4-A apprehended two rape suspects in the Calabarzon region in Miag-ao, Iloilo and Bacolod City over the weekend.
The suspects were identified as Edsan and Lino.
Esdan was nabbed in Barangay Baybay Sur, Miag-ao on a warrant issued by a Laguna court dated April 21, 2026, with no bail recommended.
Lino was caught in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City. No bail was recommended by the Batangas court which issued the arrest warrant for Lino.
