OFW seeks justice for murdered son

DAGUPAN CITY – An Overseas Filipino Worker on Sunday sought justice for her son who was shot dead in Barangay Barang, Malasiqui, Pangasinan on Saturday afternoon.
“Tulungan ninyo kami (Help us),” Cherry Belo appealed after her eldest son Harryvel was murdered by two unidentified gunmen at 5:30 p.m.
Cherry said her employer allowed her to leave after learning about the incident. She is set to go home anytime from Malaysia to attend to her son’s burial and be with her grieving family.
Days before the shooting, Cherry said she talked to her son over the phone where he asked if she would be coming home soon. But she told him that she needed to continue working first to finish paying for the motorcycle they purchased for him.
“Tapusin muna natin anak na mabayaran ang hinuhulugan nating motor para may magamit ka sa sunod na taon uuwi na ako para magkasama tayong pamilya (We should finish paying the motorcycle before I go home so that you have something to use. Next year, I will go home so that we can be together again)," Cherry said.
Police Brig. Gen. Jovencio Badua Jr., Police Regional Office 1 director, has ordered Pangasinan police chief Police Col. Dennis de Leon to investigate the shooting where Harryvel’s male companion was killed and female companion was wounded.
