Thousands of Las Piñeros received rice assistance as the national government's Bawat Bayan Makikinabang Program reached Las Piñas, with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos leading the distribution alongside Metro Manila Council president and San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora.
The distribution highlighted the continuing partnership between the national government and the Las Piñas City government in providing immediate assistance to residents amid rising food costs.
Mayor April Aguilar and Vice Mayor Mel Aguilar welcomed the First Lady and Zamora, expressing gratitude for their support and commitment to ensuring that basic services, particularly food assistance, reach communities in need.
The city government said the program reflects the shared goal of both the national and local governments to improve the welfare of Filipino families through timely interventions and social support.
The mayor thanked the First Lady and the national government for bringing the initiative to Las Piñas, saying the assistance would greatly benefit residents and ease the burden of daily household expenses.
The rice distribution forms part of the government's continuing efforts to strengthen food security and ensure that every community benefits from programs aimed at improving the lives of Filipinos.
