Valenzuela gov't supports Baby Ayla's liver transplant in India

Baby Ayla, a Valenzuela City resident diagnosed with biliary atresia -- a rare and life threatening liver condition -- will undergo a transplant in India with support from the local government.

The city’s Public Information Office said doctors recommended urgent surgery.
While officials initially prepared assistance through a foundation partner at Chinese General Hospital, Ayla’s family chose to pursue treatment abroad.
To back that decision, the city extended financial aid to cover airfare and hotel accommodations during the operation and recovery.
This latest support follows earlier interventions. In October 2025, the family received medical assistance, and in March 2026, the City Social Welfare and Development Office continued case management and monitoring.
Officials stressed that Valenzuela remains committed to standing with Baby Ayla and her family as they hope for a successful surgery and recovery.
