PCSO completes nationwide patient transport vehicle rollout

All 82 provinces in the Philippines now have Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs) from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) after the agency completed its nationwide distribution program on Friday, July 24.
This was achieved following the turnover of the final batch of 34 PTV units during a ceremony at the Provincial Capitol of Pampanga, covering the remaining provinces in Regions I, II, III, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and completing the agency’s nationwide provincial rollout.
“The milestone marks the full implementation of one of the Marcos administration's flagship healthcare initiatives, ensuring that every province in the country now has dedicated PTVs to strengthen emergency medical response and improve access to healthcare services,” PCSO said.
According to the agency, the nationwide rollout is the first in Philippine history to equip all provinces with ambulances under a government-led program.
 “PCSO’s provincial rollout builds on another major achievement of the agency after it attained 100% distribution of PTVs to all cities and municipalities nationwide in early December 2025,” it said in a statement.

The agency said the completion of the provincial rollout brings the total number PTVs distributed nationwide to 1,830.
PCSO General Manager Melquiades A. Robles said the successful completion of the nationwide provincial rollout carries out President Marcos’ directive to ensure that emergency medical assistance is more accessible to every Filipino.
"This mission is guided by the vision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. that no Filipino, no matter how far or how humble their circumstances, should ever be left without access to emergency medical care,” he said.
Robles said the nationwide provincial rollout of PTVs reflects the government’s commitment to improving access to emergency medical services.
 “With the distribution of the 34 PTVs today, PCSO has completed a nationwide total of 164 provincial Patient Transport Vehicles distributed under the program,” the agency said.
The agency said the PTVs are meant to provide safe and timely transport for patients in need of immediate medical attention, enabling local governments to improve emergency response and expedite transfers to appropriate healthcare facilities.
