Two Chinese women were arrested after allegedly trespassing into the dormitory of K-pop boy band Cortis in Seoul's Yongsan District early on July 23, according to Korean police.

The Yongsan Police Station said the women, both in their 20s, were apprehended at about 2 a.m. and booked on suspicion of trespassing, Korean media reported.

The incident came to light after Cortis' manager discovered that a package left outside the dormitory had been damaged and the front door was open. Police officers who responded to the report searched the apartment building and found the two women on another floor.

Residents expressed concern over the apparent security breach.

"I think I've seen them (the idols) here a few times. The security here has really been breached," one resident was quoted as saying.

The apartment building has security measures in place, including a notice prohibiting unauthorized entry, with access monitored by the building's security office.

"We don't know if outsiders came and were arrested. We always monitor the CCTV," a representative of the security office said.

During questioning, the two women reportedly told police they had purchased the dormitory's address through social media before going to the building. They denied damaging the package or forcing their way into the dormitory.

The incident highlights the continuing problem of privacy violations involving K-pop artists, many of whom have been targeted by so-called "sasaeng" fans, a term used to describe obsessive followers who invade celebrities' private lives.

In June, police arrested a Chinese woman after she allegedly repeatedly attempted to enter the home of Jungkook by entering the door's security code.
