Apart from jerseys and sneakers, one of the most recognizable pieces sports fans wear when watching games is headwear, particularly caps. These items not only show support for a favorite team or athlete but also reflect a sense of identity and belonging. Much like other accessories, they offer unique ways to elevate an outfit, taking game-day style beyond the stadium and into the streets.

One brand that has led this shift is New Era. What began in 1920 as an American cap manufacturer has grown into a global lifestyle label worn by athletes, musicians, artists, and streetwear enthusiasts alike. When it arrived in the Philippines, the brand introduced local consumers to its signature blend of sports heritage and streetwear culture.
As it celebrates its 11th year in the country, New Era is gifting Filipino fans a special collection that celebrates community, connection, and creativity. Dubbed “New Era Co11ective,” the line features the brand’s beloved pieces, which became blank canvases for a select group of Filipino artists.
To do that, the American headwear and apparel company tapped Jethro Olba, Lei Melendres, Nicolo Nimor, and Raco Ruiz to put their contemporary twist on the pieces, transforming them into wearable works of art.

Bannering the collaboration collection is the iconic 59Fifty, reimagined in a bold red colorway with tonal embroidery inspired by each artist’s illustrations. The collection also features custom interchangeable enamel pin badges showcasing the artists’ artwork.
The Camper comes in a deep green palette with interchangeable Velcro graphic patches and embroidered details that highlight the collection’s identity. In a navy colorway, the 9Twenty is adorned with custom embroidery featuring artwork from all four artists and an exclusive paintbrush-shaped cap pin. Rounding out the collection is a commemorative graphic tee that brings together the four artists’ interpretations of New Era’s core values into one collective vision.

To officially launch the collaboration collection, New Era Philippines gathered its fans and community on July 14 at Uptown Mall in Taguig City to meet the artists and take a closer look at the pieces. The highlight of the event was the unveiling of murals that spotlight the brand’s four core values: individuality, pride, authenticity, and collaboration. What made these murals unique were their kinetic elements and illuminated details, reflecting the brand’s dynamic spirit and its belief that creativity is constantly evolving.
“As a brand, we respect expressions of personal values and style. We honor intersections between sports, street culture, and authenticity. We take pride in breaking the mold and playing an active role in fostering collaboration,” said Xandra Santamaria, New Era Philippines AVP for Marketing. “We hope that through this collaboration, we are able to create a platform to celebrate the incredible Filipino market, becoming a blank canvas where they can express their unique perspectives.”
The “New Era Co11ective” collection is now available online and in stores. Check out the exhibition below:
