Budget concealers that actually work

We put some of the most affordable local and international concealers to the test to see which ones deserve a spot in your everyday makeup bag

Through years of interviewing international and local makeup artists, along with studying makeup artistry, one product has consistently stood out: concealer. French makeup artist Alexandre Colaianni once said that if you have good skin, you can even skip foundation and rely on concealer as your base.
With that in mind, we tested some of the most affordable concealers from both local and international brands. Here's our verdict.

For pot concealer lovers
If you prefer pot concealers over the usual liquid formulas, the Popique Face Forward Multi-Complexion Pot is worth checking out. When you find your perfect shade match, it effectively covers dark spots and other discoloration with minimal product.
We also like its lightweight, fragrance-free, and hydrating formula. For the undereye area, we found that using your fingers works best. The warmth of your skin melts the product, making it easier to blend while leaving an almost undetectable finish.

A little goes a long way
Issy recently introduced its Fluid Flex Concealer, and it quickly impressed us. Its full-coverage formula means you only need a small amount to conceal imperfections.
If you're applying it under the eyes, especially if you have deep creases, use a small brush or a damp sponge instead of your fingers. A good brush helps work the product into fine lines for a smoother, more even finish. Despite its high coverage, the natural matte finish still looks skin-like and lasts for hours.

Skincare meets makeup
If you prefer a lighter, more serum-like formula, Lucky Beauty's concealer ticks all the right boxes. It's lightweight, blends effortlessly, and has a texture reminiscent of Nars' iconic Radiant Creamy Concealer.
Because it's formulated like a serum, it contains skincare ingredients that help keep the skin hydrated and nourished throughout the day. Just make sure to set it with powder, especially if you have oily skin or want longer wear.

Safe for acne-prone skin
Applying makeup over active breakouts can sometimes feel risky, especially if you're worried about making them worse. That's where Maybelline's Fit Me Spot Rescue Concealer stands out.
Infused with salicylic acid, glycerin, and vitamin C, it's designed not only to conceal blemishes but also to help reduce them over time. We also appreciate that it delivers full coverage without feeling heavy, and blending it with just your fingertip is enough to achieve a natural-looking finish.

Light as a feather
Lovely Causemetics' Beyond Blur Concealer is one of the most versatile products we tried. Available in a wide range of shades, it can do more than conceal. Depending on the shade you choose, it can also double as a bronzer, contour, or highlighter.
Its standout feature is its lightweight feel. Despite offering full coverage, it never feels heavy or cakey on the skin, making it comfortable enough for everyday wear.
Whether you're looking to brighten dark circles, cover blemishes, or even out your complexion, there's no shortage of affordable concealers that can get the job done. The key is finding a formula that suits your skin type and makeup routine. After all, the best concealer isn't necessarily the most expensive one. It's the one that looks like skin, feels comfortable all day, and gives you the confidence to put your best face forward.
