QCPD sets up security hub for Marcos SONA

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) will establish a Multi‑Agency Coordinating Center (MACC) and deploy personnel in key areas as part of its security preparations for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 27.

The MACC, located at the QCPD Hinirang Social Hall, will serve as the central hub for real‑time monitoring and coordination among participating agencies.
Led by Police Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio, the QCPD will coordinate with other Philippine National Police (PNP) units, government agencies, and civilian organizations to ensure public safety and maintain peace and order during the event.
Skeletal deployment will begin on Sunday, July 26, while full deployment will start at 3 a.m. on Monday, July 27, with personnel assigned to strategic areas to ensure police presence and operational readiness.
The QCPD also conducted inter-agency coordination meetings, walkthrough inspections, Civil Disturbance Management Operations Refresher Training, and lectures on human rights and Batas Pambansa Blg. 880, or the Public Assembly Act of 1985, to prepare personnel for the event.
It also ensured the availability of mobile patrol units, communication equipment, barricades, and first aid teams, while strategic checkpoints and border control points will be manned to regulate the movement of people and vehicles entering designated security zones.
“Our goal is to ensure a safe and orderly environment for everyone during the President’s SONA. We are mobilizing all resources and working closely with partner agencies to secure the area and respond to any potential threats,” Silvio said.
The QCPD urged the public to remain vigilant, cooperate with authorities, and report suspicious activities through E911 or the QC Helpline 122.
