Police arrested on Thursday, July 23, two people tagged in the killing of a pro-President Marcos vlogger during a follow-up operation in Mabalacat Pampanga.

But PNP spokesman Col. Allen Rae Co said the operation will not stop with the arrest of the 58-year old gunman and 48-year old driver of a getaway motor vehicle, saying investigation is still being conducted to identify all those involved in the killing of Alicia Lipata, known as Mima Alicia.

Lipata was gunned down by two armed men in front of her house in Caloocan City. Her live-in partner was also wounded in the attack.

Police earlier said they already identified at least two of the suspects based on the investigation and at around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, they were collared in Barangay Dau in Mabalacat.

“We are not stopping with the arrest of these two. We have received information that we cannot disclose yet as of now so as not to compromise our ongoing manhunt operations and investigation but all I could say based on that information there were some other people involved,” said Co.

All indications pointed to a well-planned killing and in fact, police said that Lipata appeared to have been subjected to surveillance. The manner of the gun attack also indicated that the suspects were aware of her movement.

“So it points to the fact that there were some other people who were looking or surveilling these movements because it was exactly before the victim arrived then they entered a few minutes before the perpetrators," said Co.

Lipata is a known supporter of Marcos, and even engaged in posting blogs and commentaries against some political personalities.

Police are looking into two most probable reasons why some people want her dead: Lipata’s being a political vlogger and personal motive.

During the operation, police confiscated two hand grenades, a 9 mm pistol and a caliber 45 firearm.
