Ayala Group leads Philippine firms in latest FTSE4Good Index

Published Jul 23, 2026 03:35 pm

The Zobel-led Ayala Group has the largest number of Philippine companies included in the FTSE4Good Index Series, with parent company Ayala Corp. extending its 12-year streak, reinforcing the group’s standing in a global sustainability benchmark followed by investors and other stakeholders.

Aside from Ayala Corp., its core businesses or subsidiaries—ACEN Corp., Ayala Land Inc. (ALI), Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), and Globe Telecom Inc.—also remain constituents following the June 2026 review.

Ayala Corp., ALI, and BPI have been included in the FTSE4Good Index Series since 2015, Globe since 2016, and ACEN since 2023. Their continued inclusion gives investors and stakeholders an external reference point for the Ayala Group’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices across businesses that support national development.

“Our continued inclusion in the FTSE4Good Index Series affirms our belief that one does well by doing good. Our mantra must always be building businesses that support communities and enhance lives,” said Ayala Corp. President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Cezar P. Consing.

Created by global index and data provider FTSE Russell, the FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong ESG practices.

The FTSE4Good indexes are used by a wide range of market participants to create and assess responsible investment funds and other products.

FTSE Russell’s evaluations are based on performance in areas such as corporate governance, health and safety, anti-corruption, and climate change. Companies included in the FTSE4Good Index Series meet a range of ESG criteria.

Ayala Corp. Chief Social Infrastructure Officer Paolo F. Borromeo said the continued listing is significant because it connects Ayala’s sustainability initiatives with standards recognized by the market.

“Continued inclusion in FTSE4Good gives investors and partners a common reference point for how we put sustainability into practice. As we align our work in health, education, community development, and sustainability under social infrastructure, benchmarks such as this help reinforce our belief in the elements that are needed to deliver progress that is measurable and lasting,” Borromeo said.

The Ayala Group’s sustainability practices and ESG-aligned portfolio have helped broaden access to sustainable financing from global investors.

As of the end of 2025, the group had secured approximately $6.9 billion in sustainable financing. In May 2026, Ayala Corp. signed a $100-million sustainability-linked facility with DBS Bank Ltd., its first Singapore dollar-denominated hedged loan facility.

These efforts support Ayala’s broader strategy of creating long-term value while contributing to national development.

Through businesses in real estate, banking, telecommunications, renewable energy (RE), healthcare, mobility, logistics, industrial technologies, education, and other ventures, Ayala continues to build platforms that help address the country’s needs and enable more people to thrive.
