Shuvee Etrata is once again proving that kindness goes a long way.
The actress has drawn praise from fans after gifting ₱10,000 to a restroom attendant she found crying during a recent private gathering.
The touching story was shared by chemist-philanthropist Pinky Tobiano on her Instagram Stories, where she revealed that Shuvee had won ₱20,000 during one of the party games at her birthday celebration.
Instead of keeping the entire prize, Shuvee chose to give half of it to a cleaning lady working at the venue after noticing her in tears inside the restroom.
"Grabe!! The heart of gold of Shuvee.. She won ₱20,000 last night and she gave ₱10,000.00 to the cleaning lady of the toilet of Manila House (she found the cleaning lady crying in the toilet)," Pinky wrote.
Neither Pinky nor Shuvee disclosed why the attendant was crying, but the actress's spontaneous gesture quickly resonated with fans after screenshots of the post circulated online.
Many took to social media to commend Shuvee, saying the gesture reflected the humility and generosity she has become known for.
Note that Shuvee has previously spoken candidly about growing up in poverty as the eldest of nine siblings and a former beneficiary of the government's 4Ps program. She has said those experiences shaped her desire to help others whenever she can and inspired her to work toward giving her family a better life.
