Samsung unfolds a trio of Galaxy phones

At Galaxy Unpack 2026, Samsung has unveiled three new foldable devices. These are the Fold8, Fold8 Flip, and the new kid on the block, the Fold8 Ultra.
The Fold8 Ultra features the same design seen that brought foldables out to mainstream appeal in the past, only now it gets stamped with the “Ultra” name, just to signify that they have this ultra powerful phone for you to check out.
It features a 6.5-inch, FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2x Display, which is, I know, quite a mouthful. Perhaps the easiest way to describe it is, it has one of Samsung’s top display tech, making it look pretty with vibrant colors, and that’s to be expected from a Samsung display. All the screens of the Fold8 Ultra have a 120Hz refresh rate.
Cameras boast a 200MP main lens, 50MP for ultrawide, and 10MP for telephoto. This last one supports up to 3x optical zoom and 30x Space Zoom, which I personally feel is a sweet spot. You can shoot 8K at 30fps, which is nice but heavy on our precious memory.
Battery sits at a comfortable 5000mAh with 45W fast charging. I’ve never used a Samsung foldable for an extended duration, so I cannot comment on how this would perform, so be sure to check out our full review of it soon.
The wider Fold8 is just the Fold8, but wider. It’s like a Flip but opens up like a book. It’s wider than a Fold and taller than a Flip. And truth be told, the design looks excellent.
This device has a 7.6-inch display with Samsung’s impressive visual tech. But if you want to know all the deets, it is QXGQ+ Dynamic AMOLED. The inside of the device has a 5.5-inch display with FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2x. Aspect ratio is 10:16, and can go up to 3,000 nits of brightness. Careful in waking up this phone in the middle of the night.
The battery here ships out in 4800mAh and there are no telephoto lenses. Just 50MP coupled with another 50MP ultrawide.
However, the Flip8 remains to be the flagship when it comes to looking stylish. It maintains its classic flip design, with a 4.1-inch HD+ Super AMOLED, and option to switch between 60 and 120Hz. Flip it up and you get a nice 6.9-inch FHD_ Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen with a dedicated 120Hz refresh rate.
Camera gets a 50MP and a 12MP ultrawide. And since it’s a smaller device, it houses a 4300mAh battery.
The Fold8 Ultra and the Fold8 are both powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and the Flip8 has Exynos2600.
Besides the phones, Samsung has announced the Galaxy Watch 9 and the Galaxy Watch 2, with the latter having 5000 nits of brightness and 800mAh battery. Features include AI health monitors, and you’ll be notified for any significant changes.
It has Gemini integration by simply lifting up your wrist, which sounds very interesting. Imagine raising your hand as every day gestures, like waving at a friend, asking for the restaurant bill, or you meet someone and you unintentionally curl your hair over your ear, and out of nowhere, Gemini is activated.
We’ll be reviewing all of these devices soon. So stay tuned!
