Rape suspect nabbed while seeking police clearance in Taguig

A 23-year-old man with outstanding arrest warrants for two counts of qualified rape of a minor was nabbed on the spot while applying for a police clearance in Taguig on July 21.

The suspect, identified as alias Louie John, a resident of Barangay North Signal, was arrested inside Sub Station 9 in Barangay Wawa after the National Police Clearance System flagged his records.

Police said the clearance verifier detected a “hit” during processing, which upon confirmation showed a warrant of arrest with no bail recommended.

The warrant was issued on March 31 this year by Presiding Judge Jennifer Santos De Lumen of the Rizal Family Court Branch 18 in Cainta.

Station personnel immediately executed the arrest.

After undergoing a mandatory medical examination at the Taguig Pateros District Hospital, the accused was turned over to the station’s Warrant and Subpoena Section for documentation.

Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco said the integrated clearance system continues to prove effective in tracking and apprehending fugitives.
