PBBM orders improvements to water services nationwide

President Marcos has ordered the improvement of water services in order to ensure ample supply to Filipinos nationwide, Malacañang said.
Improvements were being undertaken upon the orders of the President, particularly in addressing concerns over water supply and service delivery, Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said.
According to Castro, the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) is implementing projects to develop new water sources, expand water distribution networks, and reduce water losses.
“The projects that will reduce non-revenue water for qualified water districts. Ito iyong tinitingnan iyong may mga leakage, may mga tagas ng tubig para hindi masayang ang tubig (This is looking into areas with leaks or water pipe leakages to prevent water from being wasted,” Castro said in a Palace briefing on Tuesday, July 21.
Castro added that LWUA is also ensuring that joint venture partners of water districts fulfill their obligations to the public and that those who violate their mandates or obligations would be held accountable.
"At binanggit din po ng LWUA na committed sila sa kanilang mandato at responsibilidad dito sa mga water districts. So, patuloy ang pagmo-monitor at pag-e-examine at pag-a-assess ng LWUA sa mga serbisyo po ng mga water districts (And LWUA mentioned that they are committed to their mandate and responsibility to water districts. So, the monitoring, examining, and assessment of LWUA to the services of water districts continue)," the Palace official said.
