NewJeans celebrates fourth anniversary with special film series
K-pop girl group NewJeans marked the fourth anniversary of its debut on July 22 by releasing a special film series featuring members Minji, Hanni, Haerin and Hyein.
The release is the group's first official content showing the four members together in nearly two years since promotions for their "Supernatural" album.
The series opens with a group film in which the members gradually come together on screen, holding hands before looking toward the same point in the distance in a visual symbolizing hope and unity.
ADOR, the group's agency, also released four individual films highlighting each member's everyday life while incorporating subtle references to NewJeans' fandom, Bunnies.
In the individual videos, Minji is seen driving a pickup truck before folding a flyer into the shape of a bunny, while Hanni spends time playing the guitar and working on music featuring a bunny character. Haerin carries a handmade bunny-shaped bag, and Hyein stops for a bunny-shaped ice cream before going roller skating.
The films also include recurring visual motifs, including glimpses of white fur and shadowy figures, blending ordinary moments with elements of fantasy.
"The special film series was created from the members' shared wish to celebrate their fourth anniversary together with fans. We hope Bunnies will enjoy these films as a heartfelt gift," ADOR said in a statement.
NewJeans debuted on July 22, 2022, and quickly rose to global prominence with hits including "Attention," "Hype Boy," "Ditto" and "Super Shy."
