Foam overflow prompts Antipolo waste disposal reminder; violator fined
Antipolo City Mayor Jun Ynares reminded residents to properly dispose of and manage all types of waste and chemicals following a foam overflow in a portion of Sitio Oreta that reached several nearby homes.
On Wednesday, July 22, Ynares said the city government immediately inspected the area to determine the source of the foam.
The inspection traced the source of the foam to a resident who had washed several gallons that previously contained ingredients used in making dishwashing liquid, including a foaming agent, causing the foam to overflow into the area.
Despite the foam overflow, residents said they did not notice any foul odor.
However, the resident was immediately issued an Environmental Violation Ticket for violating City Ordinance No. 2008-287, particularly the provision on improper waste disposal.

"Paalala itong ang tamang pagtatapon at pamamahala ng anumang uri ng basura o kemikal ay may direktang epekto sa ating mga kapitbahay at sa ating kapaligiran (This serves as a reminder that the proper disposal and management of all types of waste and chemicals have a direct impact on our neighbors and the environment)," Ynares said.
"Ang isang maliit na kapabayaan ay maaaring magdulot ng pangamba at abala sa buong komunidad (Even a small act of negligence can cause concern and inconvenience throughout the community)," the mayor emphasized.
