Viral Korean skincare brand Biodance is now in the Philippines. Here's what to get first
A dermatologist explains which Biodance products to pick based on your skin concerns, from barrier repair to brightening
The Korean skincare brand behind the viral Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask has officially arrived in the Philippines, bringing with it not only its internet-famous sheet mask but also a wide range of skincare products, from toner pads and serums to creams and facial mists.
With prices in the mid-range category, deciding where to start can be overwhelming. During Biodance's Philippine launch on July 14 at The Curve in Bonifacio Global City, board-certified dermatologist Dr. Bea Chan-Benavidez shared which products are best suited for different skin concerns.
For those looking to strengthen their skin barrier, Dr. Bea recommends the brand's bestselling Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask, which focuses on hydration and improving skin elasticity.
If your skin is dry, dehydrated, or easily irritated, she suggests the Hydro Cera-Nol Real Deep Mask. Formulated with ceramides and panthenol, the mask helps soothe irritation while restoring the skin's moisture barrier.
Meanwhile, those dealing with dullness and uneven skin tone may benefit from the Radiant Vita Niacinamide Real Deep Mask. The formula combines niacinamide with glutathione to help brighten the complexion and improve skin clarity.
For those sensitive to niacinamide, however, Dr. Bea recommends sticking to the collagen line. "In skincare products, the main ingredients can also offer secondary benefits," she told Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. "For example, hyaluronic acid is known for hydration, but when your skin is well hydrated, it regenerates faster, making the complexion look healthier and less dull."
Several Biodance collections are also available as complete skincare routines, including toner pads, serums, creams, cleansers, and masks designed to work together. Aside from its bestselling products, Biodance also introduced its newest innovation, the Rejuvenating Caviar PDRN Real Deep Mask. The product combines the brand's signature hydrogel technology with caviar extract and salmon-derived PDRN (Sodium DNA), ingredients that help soothe redness while improving skin elasticity.
With PDRN becoming one of skincare's biggest buzzwords, many wonder whether topical products can deliver the same benefits as injectable treatments. According to Dr. Bea, they serve different purposes.
"We cannot compare topical PDRN with injectable PDRN. Injectable PDRN stimulates collagen production, accelerates healing, and promotes skin regeneration,” she explained, adding that topical PDRN products are best viewed as maintenance skincare that helps support the skin after professional treatments rather than replace injectable procedures.
