QC gov't, DepEd to speed up school facility projects

The Quezon City government has partnered with the Department of Education (DepEd) to accelerate the implementation of classroom and school-building projects under the 2026 Basic Education Facilities Program.
Under the agreement, the city government and DepEd will work together to provide improved and quality school facilities for public school students.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, DepEd Assistant Secretary Aurelio Paulo Bartolome, and Undersecretary Peter Irving Corvera led the signing of a Supplemental Memorandum of Agreement formalizing the partnership.
Belmonte said the city government continues to prioritize the creation of a better learning environment for students, including the provision of proper and quality school facilities.
The partnership was forged in coordination with DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara as the agency continues to work with local government units and other partners in supporting the delivery of basic education services.
QC Education Affairs Unit OIC Maricris Veloso was also present during the signing.
