Man stabs mother to death in Cebu

CEBU CITY – A 51-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her son in San Francisco town, Camotes Island, Cebu province on Tuesday morning.
Police identified the victim as Melody and the suspect as 29-year-old Kyle.
Investigation showed that the victim went to the town health center to ask for an injectable medicine needed for her son’s mental health problem.
Kyle got angry after learning that her mother went to the health center.
He confronted her mother when she arrived home. The suspect chased his mother with a knife and repeatedly stabbed her when they reached a vacant lot.
The woman was found slumped on the ground when police arrived. She was brought to the Ricardo L. Maningo Memorial Hospital where she was declared dead.
The suspect fled but was arrested in a follow-up operation. A charge for parricide will be filed against the suspect.
