- Jessie J and Chanan Colman have announced their split after five years together. The news comes after the singer's breast cancer diagnosis and mastectomy, as the couple commits to co-parenting their son Sky.
Singer-songwriter Jessie J and longtime partner Chanan Colman have ended their romantic relationship after five years together, following a challenging period in the singer’s life that included her recent battle with breast cancer.
The former couple announced the separation in a joint Instagram post, sharing that while they are no longer together as partners, they remain committed to raising their son, Sky, who was born in 2023.
Jessie and Chanan began dating in 2021, and their relationship entered a new chapter when they welcomed their first child two years later.
“Chanan and I decided to end our romantic relationship some time ago. It has been a sad and difficult situation, but we have been focused on navigating the change privately and positively for a healthy and happy co-parenting environment for our son, and ourselves,” their statement read.
The couple said they chose to share the news themselves to prevent speculation and avoid false stories surrounding their separation.
“Unfortunately, being in the public eye, this is the easiest way to let people know the truth, before rumors circulate or a false narrative is written,” they said.
The joint post featured a photo of the family, reflecting their commitment to keeping a strong bond for Sky despite their separation.
“We will always continue supporting each other with love, respect and care as friends and most importantly being Sky’s Mum and Dad,” the statement continued. “So if you see us out and about together as a family, or posting each other on socials every now and again, that’s exactly what we are doing.”
They added that their priority remains “raising and loving Sky together, supported with a positive friendship.”
Jessie previously opened up about her cancer diagnosis, sharing that she wanted to be honest about her experience and connect with others going through similar struggles.
“I just wanted to be open and share it because selfishly, I do not talk about it enough,” she said at the time. “I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support, and also their own stories.”
The singer has continued to keep fans updated about her health journey while balancing her personal recovery, motherhood, and career.
