Husband nabbed after attacking wife's alleged lover in Rizal
A 29-year-old man was arrested after attempting to stab a man who allegedly had a relationship with his wife in Tanay, Rizal.
According to the Tanay Municipal Police Station, the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on July 19, when the 27-year-old victim was about to park his tricycle near a fast-food restaurant along Sampaloc Road in Barangay Plaza Aldea, Tanay.
Police said the suspect, identified only as "John," suddenly approached and confronted the victim over his alleged relationship with the suspect's wife.
They added that the two had a prior misunderstanding regarding the same issue.
During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly drew a kitchen knife, pointed it at the victim, and said, “Gusto mo, patayin kita ngayon?! (Do you want me to kill you now?)."
He then attempted to stab the victim, who managed to evade the attack. The suspect repeatedly punched the victim in the face, causing physical injuries.
The victim underwent a medico-legal examination at Rizal Provincial Hospital in Morong before reporting the incident to authorities, leading to the suspect’s arrest and the seizure of the kitchen knife.
John is currently under the custody of the Tanay Municipal Police Station and may face charges of attempted homicide and physical injuries.
