Police tracing TikTok post behind Pateros school bomb scare

Authorities are tracking the origin of a TikTok post that sparked a bomb scare at Pateros National High School (PNHS), forcing the suspension of classes there and at nearby Pateros Elementary School.

The Pateros police said they are coordinating with the Philippine National Police Anti Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) to verify the post and identify those responsible.

They warned that those behind the false alarm could face charges for spreading malicious or alarmist information.

Explosive ordnance teams from the National Capital Region and Taguig police conducted detection operations with school officials, barangay personnel, and security staff.

After a full sweep, police declared the premises clear.

“Based on the results of the security assessment, validation, and explosive detection procedures, no bomb, improvised explosive device (IED), explosive material, or any hazardous explosive threat was found within the school premises,” police said.

Authorities stressed that no verified bomb threat exists and urged the public to rely only on official announcements.

Residents were advised to report suspicious activity, unattended objects, or alarming online posts to the nearest police station or through the 911 National Emergency Hotline.
