PNP finalizes security for Aseanapol hosting, seeks stronger peace and order alliance

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is expecting stronger alliance against transnational crimes as it finalizes the security measures for its hosting of the 44th ASEAN Chiefs of National Police (Aseanapol) Conference in Pasay City.
The activity will be held from July 22 to 26b and is expected to be attended by 186 delegates representing the ASEANAPOL Secretariat, ASEAN Member Countries, Dialogue Partners, and Observer Organizations.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, Jr. said the conference will serve as a platform for police leaders and partner organizations to strengthen regional cooperation against transnational crime, terrorism, cybercrime, human trafficking, and other emerging security challenges.
He said the activity will also serve as an opportunity to reinforce the country's role in regional law enforcement cooperation and improve coordination against transnational security threats.
“The conference reinforces the Philippines' commitment to regional security and collective action. It provides an opportunity to deepen operational cooperation, improve intelligence sharing, and strengthen our partnerships in addressing threats that no country can solve alone,” Nartatez said.
Around 1,559 policemen were deployed to secure the event and Nartatez said the police forces will be reinforced by 282 PNP mobility assets, additional transport support from participating organizations, and 3,765 communications and ICT equipment to ensure reliable coordination before and throughout the conference.
He said all major preparations are on schedule, with administrative requirements substantially completed, final rehearsals concluded, and remaining conference materials set for delivery before the opening.
Security, communications, transportation, and venue coordination have likewise been synchronized to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the five-day international event.
Nartatez He emphasized that the PNP is fully prepared to provide a secure environment for all delegates and participants, saying it will be an opportunity to strengthen trust, improve cooperation, and build lasting partnerships among law enforcement agencies.
“We want to convey that the Philippines is a reliable and committed partner in regional law enforcement. Through collaboration, mutual trust, and the sharing of best practices, we can build a safer and more secure ASEAN for our people," Nartatez added.
