DPWH verifying alleged ghost flood control projects in Taguig amid Cayetano-Lacson word war

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now conducting a verification on the allegations of ghost flood control projects in Taguig City, specifically between 2022 to 2025.
Taguig City is a known political bailiwick of the Cayetanos and the allegation came amid the escalating word war between Sen. Panfilo Lacson and Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano.
DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said he already ordered the verification of all flood control-related projects in Taguig City as the issue is already being widely discussed on social media.
“Pina-pacheck natin sa district engineer (We asked the district engineer to check it,” said Dizon.
But he said he has still no knowledge on the result of the verification when asked of the status of the verification. 
The allegation was raised over the weekend after Cayetano cited on his Facebook live that Lacson and Sen. Erwin Tulfo’s net worth had increased twofold.
Lacson hit back by explaining why his net worth increased and later raised the allegation of ghost project in Taguig City.
“My integrity is my first and last line of defense and I will fight to defend it with all my might. Sen Cayetano has crossed the line by attacking it. As of this morning, I’m still counting informants and witnesses, directly or through intermediaries, willing to provide information and evidence to put him in his proper place — the Payatas, QC jail,” Lacson posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
He then raised the issue of alleged budget insertions of Cayetano.
Tulfo, on the other hand, asked Cayetano to be ready for the flood control probe on alleged ghost flood control project, saying it was the latter's brother, Lino, who asked for the investigation.
Sen. Jinggoy Estrada and former senator Bong Revilla are currently detained at the New Quezon City Jail in Barangay Payatas over allegations of multi-million kickbacks from flood control projects.
Other personalities involved in the flood control scam are also detained in the same facility.
Cayetano, for his part, denied the allegation and said there were no ghost flood control projects in Taguig City.
