Baguio lauds Soriano for bagging Binibining Pilipinas Int'l 2026 crown
BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Benjamin Magalong assured support for Gwendoline Meliz Soriano who was crowned Binibining Pilipinas International 2026 over the weekend.
Magalong said they are proud of her achievement and wishes her success in the next stage of her journey.
He said her achievement which earned her the right to represent the country in the Miss International competition next year reflects the talent, intelligence, grace, and resilience of Baguio's youth.
"This remarkable achievement is a proud moment not only for your family but for the entire Baguio community. You have shown the country that the beauty, talent, intelligence, and resilience of a true daughter of Baguio can shine on the national stage," Magalong said.
Soriano, a 26-year-old resident of Bakakeng Central, is the city's second holder of the Binibining Pilipinas International title.
In 2016, Kylie Verzosa also represented Baguio City and won the Binibining Pilipinas International crown. She went on to win the Miss International 2016 title in Tokyo, Japan.
"Your victory is an inspiration to our youth and a testament to what can be achieved through hard work, discipline, and determination. As you prepare to represent the Philippines internationally, carry with you the warmth, strength and values of our city," Magalong added.
Soriano also won special awards – Best in Swimsuit and Best in Evening Gown – in the pageant.
