2 men fight over woman in Cebu

CEBU CITY – A 34-year-old construction worker beat up a 62-year-old senior citizen with an iron bar during altercation over a woman in a disco in Barangay Catarman, Liloan town, northern Cebu province.

Police said jealousy could have driven Jomar to assault Jesus past 1 a.m. on Monday, July 20.

They were reportedly attracted to the same woman.

Investigation said Jesus was attending a disco when the suspect arrived and without a word hit the victim with a crow bar in the head.

Police said the victim tried to parry the blows but was overpowered by the younger suspect.

The two men wrestled on the dance floor until the victim managed to run.

Police said the suspect chased and continued hitting the victim with the iron bar.

Barangay tanods arrived and saved the victim from further injuries.

The tanods arrested the suspect and turned him over to the police.

Police said charges for physical injuries will be filed against the suspect.
