Suzuki Philippines provided assistance to employees of two dealerships in General Santos City following the major earthquake that struck the waters off Sarangani on June 8.
Relief packages were distributed to personnel of Suzuki Auto General Santos and Suzuki Auto SM City General Santos who were directly affected by the earthquake. The packages contained packed food and fresh polo shirts to help cover some of their immediate needs while recovery efforts continued in the area.
The magnitude Mw 7.8 Offshore Sarangani earthquake struck at 7:37 a.m. and was strongly felt across parts of Mindanao, including General Santos City. Suzuki Philippines said its initial response focused on checking the condition of employees working at its dealerships in the area.
"Our immediate priority was to check on the safety and welfare of our dealership employees and provide practical support during this challenging time," said Koichiro Hirao, President of Suzuki Philippines. “We work every day to serve our customers as TEAM SUZUKI, together with our Suzuki dealerships. We remain committed to supporting one another whenever the need arises.”
Suzuki Philippines said the assistance formed part of its efforts to support employees and members of its dealer network during emergencies. The company also recognized the role of dealership personnel in keeping operations running and serving customers in their respective communities.
