The Pasay City government received a 91.39 percent rating and was recognized as "Highly Compliant" in the 2025 Manila Bay Clean-up, Rehabilitation and Preservation Program (MBCRPP) Local Government Units Compliance Assessment (LGU-CA) conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government-National Capital Region (DILG-NCR).
The DILG-NCR commended the city under the leadership of Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano for its effective governance and sustained implementation of environmental programs that promote ecological protection, cleanliness, and the preservation and rehabilitation of Manila Bay.
The recognition reflects the city's continued commitment to environmental stewardship through initiatives aimed at maintaining cleaner waterways, improving waste management, and protecting coastal resources.
The distinction also reinforces its vision of transforming Pasay into the country's first EcoCity, underscoring its long-term commitment to sustainable urban development and responsible environmental governance.
It added that the local government will continue to strengthen programs that promote environmental responsibility and encourage community participation in preserving Manila Bay and protecting the environment for future generations.
