NAVI PH loses to Team Vitality for bridesmaid finish in MWI

The Filipinas just couldn’t sustain the strong start and struggled against the draft of the defending champions in the pivotal Games 5 and 6 to settle for a bridesmaid finish and $90,000 prize or roughly P5.5 million.

NAVI PH looked to be on its way to a dominant series after opening the series with a 14-5 Game 1 win. Gywneth “Not Ayanami” Diagon spearheaded the crew with an 8-0-1 KDA on the Freya pick.

But the Indonesian squad refused to back down and retaliated with back-to-back wins in Games 2 and 3 — the last of which saw NAVI PH survive four Lord sieges only to lose after the 28-minute affair.

Refusing to go down without a fight, NAVI PH had one more fight in it as the Filipinas recovered from a slow start behind a clutch triple kill from Kaye “Keishi” Alpuerto during the 14th minute Lord dance. That clash alone turned the tables for the Filipinas, who even the series after the Game 4 win which lasted for 19 minutes.

That, however, proved to be the last stand for the NAVI PH as Team Vitality went on to dominate the last two games of the series.

Team Vitality jumped on the gun, establishing an early 13-2 kill score lead and never looked back since then. The Filipinas also had no answers to Viorelle “Vival” Chen’s Ling who scattered a 3-1-6 KDA.

Vival also starred on the same hero in the title-clinching Game 6, scoring a Maniac to cap Team Vitality’s second straight championship in the premier women’s MLBB tournament.
