Man nabbed in Pasig for abusing 2 stepdaughters for years
A 26‑year‑old construction worker was arrested in Pasig City after allegedly abusing his two minor stepdaughters for several years.
The Eastern Police District (EPD) identified the suspect only as "Mark,” listed as Pasig City's second most wanted person.
He was apprehended on July 16 during a police operation based on several arrest warrants issued on July 15, 2026, by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 159, Pasig City.
Police said the suspect allegedly repeatedly sexually abused his two stepdaughters inside a residence in Barangay Buting, Pasig City. The victims were 12 and 14 years old at the time of the investigation.
Authorities said the abuse began in September 2022 and continued on multiple occasions at night until late 2025. They said the suspect took advantage of the victims' mother's absence while she was at work.
“The suspect also sent sexually suggestive digital messages to one of the victims, which were deleted immediately after reading,” EPD said.
The victims initially kept the incidents secret for fear of being scolded or not believed.
On Feb. 23, 2026, one of the victims gathered the courage to tell a relative, prompting the family to seek help from barangay officials and the police.
Medico-legal examinations later showed signs of previous physical trauma, leading to the filing of charges in April 2026 and the issuance of arrest warrants.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Pasig City Police Station Custodial Facility Unit. He faces multiple charges, including rape under Article 266-A, Paragraph 2 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) in relation to Section 5(a) of Republic Act No. 8369, with no bail recommended.
The warrants also include two counts of acts of lasciviousness under Article 336 of the RPC in relation to Section 5(a) of RA No. 8369, with a recommended bail of P36,000 for each count, and two counts of violation of Section 12 of RA No. 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act, with a recommended bail of P60,000 for each count.
