Road closures set in Intramuros for July 18 run

Several roads in Intramuros and nearby areas will be temporarily closed starting 2:00 a.m. on July 18, to give way to a scheduled running event.

Among the affected roads are the northbound lane of the Binondo–Intramuros Bridge and Riverside Drive, which serves as an access route between Binondo and Intramuros. Portions of Magallanes Drive, particularly from the southbound lane of Jones Bridge to Plaza Mexico, will also be closed.

Inside Intramuros, multiple streets will be affected, including Muralla Street from Gen. Luna to Sta. Lucia and from Gen. Luna to Soriano Avenue.

Sta. Lucia Street from Muralla to Anda Street will also be closed, along with Cabildo Street from Arzobispo to Sta. Potenciana, and Arzobispo Street from Sta. Clara to Anda.

The eastbound lane of Soriano Avenue from Solana to Anda Circle is likewise included in the closure.

Outside the walled city, the westbound lane of P. Burgos Avenue, from Victoria Street to Roxas Boulevard, will not be accessible to motorists. Access through Victoria Gate will also be restricted.

To ease traffic flow, rerouting will be implemented.

Vehicles coming from Jones, MacArthur, and Quezon bridges bound for the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard will be redirected to P. Burgos Avenue via Lagusnilad, then proceed straight to Taft Avenue to reach their destinations.

Meanwhile, motorists coming from Ma. Orosa Street are advised to take the eastbound lane of P. Burgos Avenue.

Authorities advise the public to plan their trips and expect possible delays during the early morning activity.
