PACKS of suspected shabu valued at P3.7 million seized from a vendor in Cebu City. (PDEA-7)
CEBU CITY – A female vendor yielded packs of suspected shabu worth P3.7 million in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Santo Niño here.
The 37-year-old suspect, a certain Belinda, was arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7) early Friday morning, July 17.
PDEA-7 Regional Director Joel B. Plaza said 22 packs believed to contain shabu weighing approximately 550 grams were seized from the suspect.
Plaza said she was arrested after a one-week case buildup. Based on intelligence monitoring, the suspect was selling 700 grams to a kilo of shabu a week.
The PDEA-7 said the suspect will be charged for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
If convicted, the suspect may face the maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a fine of up to P10 million, PDEA-7 said.
