Fire displaces 33 families in Muntinlupa's Barangay Cupang

A fire struck a residential area in Purok 6, Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa, on July 17, affecting 33 families or 110 individuals.
The Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management reported that the blaze began at about 6:39 a.m. in Medina Compound. Firefighters raised the first alarm at 6:49 a.m. before extinguishing the fire at 8:24 a.m.
The city government’s Social Services Department conducted area mapping, assessments, and intake interviews, and issued disaster cards to the affected families.
The displaced families are temporarily staying at the JRF Multipurpose Building.
The city government, in coordination with Barangay Cupang, provided hot meals and will distribute additional food and non food relief assistance.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon assured the families that they will receive support.
Under a city ordinance, fire victims are entitled to financial assistance.
