Detainee's wife shot dead after jail visit in Cavite

CAVITE – A woman who had just visited her husband at a Bureau of Jail Management and Penology facility in Barangay Santiago, General Trias City, was shot to death on Thursday, July 16.
A report from the Police Regional Office 4A identified the victim as alias Nadia, 33.
Initial investigation showed that alias Nadia was on her way home along Bagong Silang Road within the same barangay as the jail facility when she was approached by two unidentified suspects riding a motorcycle.
The back rider allegedly shot the victim twice in the head, killing her on the spot.
The suspects fled towards the direction of Barangay San Francisco II, leaving the victim lying beside a creek.
Witnesses said the motorcycle driver was wearing a black t-shirt, while the back rider was wearing a white jacket and a white helmet.
The General Trias City Police Station sought assistance from the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) to process the crime scene.
Authorities are now reviewing available CCTV footage to identify and locate the suspects and determine the motive behind the crime.
