Philippine e-commerce ecosystem gets dedicated national platform with launch of ECOMEX 2026

Government, industry leaders and entrepreneurs launch a new platform to strengthen collaboration and accelerate digital business growth
Government leaders, industry experts, entrepreneurs and media organizations gathered on July 9 for the official Media and Ecosystem Launch of E-Commerce Expo Philippines (ECOMEX) 2026, formally introducing a new national platform designed to bring together the stakeholders shaping the future of Philippine e-commerce.
Powered by PHILSME and organized by MediaTrix Solutions Inc., ECOMEX is the Philippines' biggest expo, conference, and networking event for entrepreneurs, online sellers, and digital innovators. The initiative aims to strengthen collaboration across the country's rapidly expanding digital commerce sector by connecting businesses with technology providers, marketplaces, logistics companies, financial institutions, educators, government agencies and industry organizations.
The launch comes as the Philippine e-commerce industry continues to expand, creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs while increasing the need for businesses to build stronger digital capabilities, strategic partnerships and sustainable growth strategies.
More than 40 international, regional and local media organizations participated in the launch through the exclusive Zoom event and livestream across the ECOMEX and PHILSME social media platforms, reflecting growing interest in the country's evolving digital economy.
Opening the launch, Trixie Esguerra-Abrenilla, Founder and Organizer of ECOMEX and CEO and Managing Director of the Philippine SME Business Expo (PHILSME), said ECOMEX was established to help businesses navigate the increasingly complex realities of succeeding in digital commerce.
"Philippine e-commerce success depends on execution across the entire customer journey. The challenge is no longer simply how to sell online, but how to acquire, convert, fulfill and retain customers. These are exactly the kinds of questions ECOMEX is built to address."
She said the platform was created to provide entrepreneurs and businesses with direct access to industry experts, business solutions, technology providers and strategic partners that can help them compete in today's digital economy.
Scheduled on November 20–21, 2026 at SMX Convention Center Aura in Taguig City, ECOMEX will bring together entrepreneurs, online sellers, brands, marketplaces, technology companies, logistics providers, fintech firms, content creators, educators, investors, government agencies and business organizations for two days of exhibitions, conferences and networking opportunities.
In a recorded keynote message, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) E-Commerce Bureau Director Eryl Royce Nagtalon emphasized that sustaining the country's digital economy requires cooperation among government, businesses and consumers.
"Maintaining a safe and reliable e-commerce environment is a shared responsibility. Achieving this requires all of us—the government, the industry, and every Filipino entrepreneur and consumer—working together."
Nagtalon said initiatives such as ECOMEX can help strengthen the country's digital commerce ecosystem by supporting innovation, encouraging responsible business practices and expanding opportunities for Filipino entrepreneurs.
Digital entrepreneur and content strategist Reymond "Boss RDR" Delos Santos described the launch as a significant milestone for Philippine entrepreneurship, noting that the country's growing e-commerce sector deserves a dedicated platform where businesses can learn, collaborate and grow together.
"This effort is long overdue. It's time for us to come together as one community."
Delos Santos said thousands of Filipino entrepreneurs have successfully transformed traditional businesses into online enterprises, creating jobs and new economic opportunities through digital commerce. He added that ECOMEX provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to learn from experts, discover emerging technologies and become part of a community committed to advancing Philippine e-commerce.
Entrepreneur, author and financial educator Coach Chinkee Tan encouraged business owners to embrace digital transformation, stressing that maintaining an online presence is no longer optional for companies that want to remain competitive.
"If your business is not online, your competitors are."
Tan said entrepreneurs should continuously invest in learning, build trusted personal brands and take advantage of opportunities to network with fellow business owners and industry experts as digital commerce continues to reshape the business landscape.
Organizers said ECOMEX was conceived as more than an annual exhibition. It is envisioned as a long-term industry platform where entrepreneurs, online sellers, solution providers, technology companies, educators, investors, government institutions and business organizations can collaborate to accelerate the growth of Philippine e-commerce.
The November event is expected to gather more than 5,000 entrepreneurs, business owners and industry stakeholders, together with over 130 exhibitors showcasing products, services and innovations supporting digital business growth.
