Reliable internet has become an essential part of how Filipino families work, learn, and stay connected. For Michael Montepalco of La Union and Mark Palu-ay of Pasig City, that connection has become a lifelong gift. As grand prize winners of PLDT Home’s Broadband Free Forever (BFF) Promo, these dads will enjoy free fiber internet for life, giving their families reliable connectivity without worrying of a monthly bill.
Launched earlier this year, the PLDT Home BFF Promo rewards subscribers with free fiber internet for life. More than a rewards program, BFF reflects PLDT Home’s commitment to becoming a lifelong digital partner that supports Filipino families in work, learning, entertainment, and the meaningful moments they share every day.
Connecting for a bigger purpose
Life has been filled with unexpected blessings for Michael, a former tricycle driver and now a real estate agent. He reveals that he couldn’t believe it was possible to win free internet for life.
“Totoo ba to? Kasi di po ako makapaniwala po. Si misis ko naman, sobrang tuwa nya so siniguro nya din na totoo nga,” he shared.
Reliable connectivity has become an essential part of Michael’s livelihood, allowing him to coordinate with clients, manage daily transactions, and share property listings online.
His digital life also extends beyond work. Michael is an active member in his church’s music ministry, where he plays the keyboard and prepares worship songs each week. Much of this preparation now happens online, watching tutorials, practicing arrangements, and accessing music resources to support his service. “I learn around 6 to 8 church songs a week by watching online videos, so having reliable internet is essential,” he shared.

At home, his connection also supports simple downtime with his wife, streaming videos and watching movies as part of their bonding.
For Michael, the prize goes beyond free internet. With one less household expense, he and his wife can redirect part of their budget toward other necessities while continuing to stay connected for work, ministry, and everyday life.
Powering young families
Like many young families today, Mark’s household balances work, entertainment and learning at home.
Beyond communication, their internet also enables the family to unwind together after work, from social media and streaming movies, to playing mobile games.
One of the most meaningful uses of their connection is staying close to family in the province. Mark regularly joins video calls with relatives in Iloilo, keeping in touch with siblings and extended family despite the distance. These calls have become an important way to maintain relationships that would otherwise be limited to occasional visits or messages.
Just like Michael, Mark shares that winning free internet will be helpful in their family expenses. “Nangungupahan kami. Kaya sobrang thankful ko talaga,” he said.
