Rabiya Mateo enrolls in UST's Doctor of Medicine program

Actress and beauty queen Rabiya Mateo is officially a medical student.

Mateo announced on Monday that she has enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine program at the University of Santo Tomas, marking another milestone in her long-time goal of becoming a doctor.

She shared the news on her Instagram Story, posting a photo of her official UST student ID.

The 2020 Miss Universe Philippines winner represented the country at the Miss Universe 2021 pageant. Before entering pageantry, she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Iloilo Doctors' College in 2018.

Earlier this year, Mateo moved a step closer to medical school after revealing that she scored 741 on the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT), a requirement for admission to medical schools in the Philippines.

Mateo has long spoken about her dream of pursuing medicine, saying her background in health sciences and desire to serve communities inspired her to take the path toward becoming a doctor.
