ILOILO CITY – The Police Regional Office-6 found no lawmen linked to illegal quarry operations in Iloilo province in an investigation.
PRO-6 Director Police Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño said the comprehensive investigation conducted by PRO-6 with the assistance of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau-6 cleared police officers from units under the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).
Last May, the Iloilo provincial government Environment and Natural Resources Office (Iloilo PGENRO) said that policemen may be included in criminal charges to be filed for illegal quarry operations in Calinog, Dueñas, and Lambunao towns.
With the probe clearing lawmen, Tuaño said they are now looking into the possibility that those involved in illegal quarry operations may be using or name-dropping names of police officers.
Tuaño assured that PRO-6 will continue to monitor any developments as part of their zero tolerance policy against erring cops.
He reiterated that any personnel involved in illegal activities may face administrative and criminal charges.
