BACOLOD CITY – Police Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño, director of Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), vowed justice for the 73-year-old American marine biologist in Sibulan, Negros Oriental who was killed in a home invasion over the weekend.
Cardiño assured the victim’s family, the community, and foreign visitors that this case is being treated with utmost urgency and no effort will be spared until justice is served.
He said that they are exhausting all legal means to identify and apprehend the suspects.
Police urged people with information to immediately to contact the Sibulan Municipal Police Station in Negros Oriental.
The victim – Dr. Kent E. Carpenter – died from a bullet wound in the head. His 34-year-old live-in partner was wounded in the attack.
Three unidentified persons forcibly entered the couple’s house before midnight.
A Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) has been formed to establish the motive and identify the suspects.
