DAVAO CITY – A newly opened mall is expected to boost the economy of this city, an official said.
Barangay 76-A Bucana Captain Robert Olanolan welcomed on Wednesday morning, July 15, the opening of The Paragon Lifestyle Mall on McArthur Highway, Matina, saying it is expected to boost local revenue and provide easier access to shopping, especially for nearby residents.
Olanolan described The Paragon Lifestyle Mall as a significant addition to the barangay and Davao City, as it brings another major commercial operator into the area, alongside existing businesses.
He said the new mall will help increase the city's annual income through local taxes and other business revenues. He added that it will also create economic opportunities and make essential goods and services more accessible to nearby communities.
"We invite all residents of Bucana and nearby areas to visit the mall and see for yourself," Olanolan told reporters, adding that his constituents would not need to go far as the mall is located near other schools and commercial facilities in the area.
Olanolan assured the public that local officials are ready to keep the area around the new mall safe. He said barangay watchers and police officers conduct regular patrols, with support from the Davao City Police Office.
He said the presence of the new mall store reflects continuing development in Davao City and could help strengthen the local economy while providing residents with more convenient access to retail services.
