Man who threatened ex-partner with gun arrested in Taguig
Police arrested a man who forcibly entered his former partner’s home and threatened her with a gun in Taguig on July 14.
The incident happened in Pulong Kendi, Barangay Sta. Ana, Taguig, wherein the suspect, identified as alias John, 38, entered the home of his former partner by destroying the door.
The victim, together with her parents and siblings, sought refuge inside a comfort room. The suspect repeatedly banged the comfort room door and fired a shot.
The victim called the police for help. When personnel from the Taguig police’s Sub-station 4 arrived, they found the suspect in the house holding a gun.
They disarmed him and seized the firearm. The suspect failed to produce any document to prove he had license or permit to carry the weapon.
Recovered from the suspect were a revolver, .22-caliber cartridge, and three pieces of live .22- caliber ammunition.
The suspect will face a complaint for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), grave threat, malicious mischief, and trespass to dwelling.
The recovered gun will undergo ballistic and cross-matching examination by the Southern Police District Forensic Unit. The Firearms and Explosives Office will also verify whether the suspect possesses any valid firearm registration or license.
Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco, SPD district director, commended the responding police officers for their action.
