Janine Berdin shuts down political allegations, urges public to focus on accountability

Singer-songwriter Janine Berdin has spoken out against online allegations linking her to certain political groups, as well as the death threats she received as a result. She urged netizens to stop spreading misinformation and instead focus on holding public officials accountable.

The issue surfaced after social media users circulated claims about Berdin's supposed political affiliations based on pages she follows on her personal accounts. Addressing the issue through an Instagram Story, the OPM artist made it clear she had no intention of entertaining what she described as fabricated narratives.

"I'll only speak on this once," Berdin wrote. "Let's put our energy into holding the people in power accountable instead of inventing narratives about artists who are literally just trying to do their work."

The singer also urged social media users to verify information before joining online criticism.

"Next time, maybe consider fact-checking before spreading sh*t online and hopping on hate trains. Do better," she added.

Berdin also speculated that the pages on her following list may have changed names over time to reflect political affiliations without her knowledge.

Despite the controversy, Berdin remains focused on her music.

The award-winning artist recently released "PROMISE..!!!," the lead single from the upcoming deluxe edition of her debut album "LAB SONG NG MGA TANGA."
The song was released on July 9, while the expanded edition will feature four new tracks, continuing the emotionally candid songwriting that has become her trademark.

The 24-year-old singer also gained international attention in recent months after her live performance of "What if I Miss You for the Rest of My Life?" on the Wish 107.5 Bus drew praise from artists including Demi Lovato, Doechii, and SZA.
