The Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) on Wednesday, July 15, dismissed as false and malicious a social media post claiming that a school shooting had occurred at Datamex College of Saint Adeline in Caloocan City.
In a statement, the Caloocan police said they immediately coordinated with the school administration after learning about the circulating post.
Police said the school categorically denied the claim and confirmed that no such incident had taken place.
The school administration also requested an investigation to identify the individual or individuals responsible for spreading the false information.
The CCPS said the post caused unnecessary fear and alarm among students, parents, school personnel, and the community.
Police assured the public that the safety and security of schools in Caloocan City remain a top priority.
It added that police visibility has been intensified, with authorities continuing to coordinate closely with school officials to help ensure a safe learning environment.
The public was urged not to believe or share unverified information and to rely only on official announcements from the school and the police.
Authorities said appropriate legal action will be taken against anyone found responsible for spreading false and malicious information.
